Melvin Brouwer Williams – American Pinball / The Art of Pinball

Melvin Brouwer is the Creative Director at American Pinball and leads the design team, bringing his creative visions to American Pinball.
His latest pinball machine, Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, which he created in collaboration with Dutch Pinball, will also be at APF 2026.
Together with his partner Lior, he also represents “The Art of Pinball” at the festival.

They are based in the greater Seattle area and sell pinball control systems to customers around the world, including hobbyist pinball builders, indie pinball designers, and pinball manufacturers building upgrade kits and complete machines.

He founded Pinball News in late 1999. The platform evolved from his personal website, which previously mainly featured reports about pinball and trade shows. The catalyst for the change was the closure of Williams’ pinball division in November 1999. When that announcement came, it was said that pinball was dead, done, and buried – and he disagreed.
